Hey Anna,

when the U.S. saw that the dollar was falling and the Euro was rising, they threw a wrench into the works, Just you wait and see what these "carpetbaggers" are capable of. Eddie "if I borrow money while I'm drunk, do I get a "bailout" or have another drink"

Tell me more Eduardo

nobody seems to be talking about what actually caused this crash, apart of course from the historical imperative that capitalism will collapse under its own weight of accumulated excretia. cheers, Jess

Sorry Anna for over stepping your spot. "if I walk into traffic while I'm drunk, am I directing traffic"

It’s every shark for

It's every shark for himself mentality since the Reagan years and the trickle-down economics gone rampant, imo. It doesn't take a PHD to deduce that big business is only big because the little people have buying power. Thanks all who commented. Another type of poem I wish I didn't have to write. As a former Realtor, I saw this coming.... at least this side of the equation. ~A p.s. I missed you Jess

Anna...

paper money indeed... from what I understand our Federal Reserve Bank is privately owned... print some more paper... I was a printer for 20 yrs... not of money but it is printing on paper, with inks and solvents and plates for imaging... don't you know they are printing money now without the gold or silver to back it up... it is just paper... and I feel that one day it will be used to start our fires with... but I guess right now I'll keep the little I've got in my pocket.... great haiku by the way... you got me rambling... thanks Richard

Anna, Great poem!

You are right to an extent. You actually have to go all the way back to Roosevelt's new deal. Just about every president and house are guilty of adding to it. The straw that broke the back was when house republican and democrats both passed legislation and urged Fannie Mae and Freddy Mac to make loans w/o being sure the people had the income to pay it back. Then these brokers started writing the loans then they were being sold, sold, sold again and again untill it effected, or should I say infected, everyone. Sad state of affairs and I only see worse before it gets better because most of the world is tied together now. It will be wider sweeping than the great depression was. It will not effect only the USA. I really enjoyed this one. Respectfully, Rett: "We can all be thankful that Picasso wasn't a plastic surgeon." Rett
