Emma Grace Goes To Kindergarten !

Emma Grace, the beautiful little girl all
The physicians said would never be
Able to do anything

Has been promoted from Special Education
To the real deal, she is going to Kindergarten
She was promised this if she could conquer potty training
And conquer she did

She has climbed every mountain with elation
And gathered strength with her every battle
Learning to  walk, and read and how to count
Able to do everything afterall

Her joy shows in her eyes, they say, "look at me
She has shown herself to be one tough cookie
At three, when still unable to walk, going to physical therepy

Placed on a treadmill to force her weak muscles to grow
Crying with each step, "It hurts, it hurts
Her mother crying with her, "I know, I know

Five years have since passed and now the best
Is about to happen
Mother has signed her up for dance
Emma Grace has always wanted to be a ballerina

A little pink leotard, and a pair of pink ballet slippers await
Emma Grace about to make her entrance into life
Look out world, here she comes

Tears here

What a beautiful story. Your grand daughter isn't it? Oh my, how proud you must be. It just goes to show that doctors don't understand that where there is the will, there is a way. Beautiful. I even hate to point out the spelling error. "Emma Grace about to make her enterance into life" Should be entrance. Lordy, this poem touched my heart. Well done Linda, this deserves a 5 or double that. Respectfully, Rett: "We can all be thankful that Picasso wasn't a plastic surgeon." Rett

Thank you Rett

Yes, this is my youngest grand daughter. Boy! when I mis-spell a word I do it right. Thank you for catching that and thank you for your kind comments. This is the first time I have composed a poem right into Neopoet, I usually write it down first.

Jess

Thanks, My youngest daughter, Deborah, Emma's mother, will enjoy these comments. I need to write a poem about Deborah, a pretty tough cookie in her own right. She's a beauty, too.

Emma

This little one is already a Prime Donna. What ever she does, is done with hard work and love, this one won, as soon as she knew she could, and is what I would call an Angel, looking for a place to just be, An Angel, Can't see so well when those gathered bits from the body falling out with emotion. Yours, Ian.T
