Your Loving Face

Just want to sit and talk with you
Not to seek gifts or answers to prayers

I just want to seek your loving face
And not your giving hand

To love you for who you are
And thank you for what you've done

To cause you to smile
And not to grieve

To show you the love
That you have shown me

A quiet time for just me with you
A time to adore your loving face

I would love it....

to just sit with the Lord, and talk. I know us Christians can through prayer, yet I desire the flesh, Christ's hand in mine. I would love to play him a game of Chess too! I guess it's my sins which seperate us, we will see if I make to the big house in the sky, until then I guess he's just a heavenly pen-pal. Awesome write Linda! Your friend, Mark

Your poem is great, it carries a double meaning all the way through in consonance with your style of writing at times in two lines, so the structure and the message are shared to both the physical friend who the poet adores and the spiritual friend, who could be Christ or God Almighty. This adoration requires a quiet time, a moment of contemplation and prayer, not petitioning for anything, but just a sharing moment of love. The poet is the artist, painting the object and the shadow with every stroke of the brush and pen, in oil paint and ink, for our admiration. A very good write. Best wishes. T.

I enjoyed this poem, reminds me of a song.... Take me to that place Lord Where there is only me and you Longing for your presence I know that you're calling me to you. Here I stand and long for your embrace. Nothing else could ever take your place. Come holy spirit, fall in this place, I need more and more of you. Fill me again with the power of your spirit Lord, I'm crying out for more and more of You. (sorry to post long, but this song says best how I feel about your poem. Patty
