Graveyard Picnic

The day is bright
The air is clear,
nobody here.

We sit quietly
have our picnic.
Amongst the
solitary souls,
who wander,
silently here.

The stillness
is broken,
as a butterfly
drifts by.
In slow motion.
It's journey
just begun.

Where as we
question?
our journey,
our direction.

We are the same,
but not the same.
We are the sides
of one coin

Joined in heart
mind soul
and body.

The same thread
we are spun from.
Our fine strands
So strong.
Yet so fragile.

We walk
We talk
We laugh so.

There is a spark,
We sing
from our hearts.

A melody
floats by
As we take
a sigh,
A butterfly
passes by

Notes dance
on air.
As in a
prayer.

Always remembered
never forgotten

My love,
You have the touch
of a sweet promise

I love you
totally

Now and forever.
Ever was. Ever now.
Still is........................

A nice quiet poem, electric blue.

I can almost see the scene. I don't see the souls, but I do get a sense of the human silliness of graveyards.Still, they do represent THE great thing that we all have in common.I walk them myself, to share spirit with spirit, and also to clear my mind for a quiet write. wcw

butterflie dust

Toronto ontario there is a circular roadway a tall solitary pine in trees a small almost unoticed path we took this to see the pine being from the north finding this little afternoon forest in the stately treed ancient grounds and along the path and around the tree was dust like snow what could this be I wondered and when we left i was looking at the old stones and it took to me i was looking at the dust of people who had brought the cremation and had cast free in a special place their mates family loved ones the tree would take the ash and grow stronger taller no one had posted signs forbidding this we had simply traced the route in silence seeing this large pine I like your butterfly scene in your poem i watched a single Monarch this summer black and orange your poem was peaceful tranguil thoughtful it brought all this from me lost in history as a poem well written should thank you

Hi

Great theme... I felt the setting, "But surely there must be nicer place's to have a picnic,"Just Kidding" The only issue i have is this...... "We sit quietly have our picnic". "Have our picnic"...Grammatically this doesn't read well, Having "yes" but doesn't fit, or "Sharing" feels better - may work.... have a think.....But overall, loved it, Regards. Peter ~~~"I am not afraid of tomorrow, for I have seen yesterday, and I love today."~~~

Peter. People do not make time for special times like these. to take times out and share special moments. Treasures moments. Take a walk there sometime on your own and you will see and feel serenity. Enjoy your walk and maybe a picnic. Thanks for your comments i will take a look at this.

Amongst the solitary

Amongst the solitary souls, who wander, silently here. These lines are my favorite. Well written, great flow and you tell a beautful story. Nice work ;-) Kaz It's impossible to smile on the outside without feeling better on the inside.
