Louis
I wish I could be a friend to all
like Louis,
for it matters not
to him
if one is a good or bad poet
six degrees of separation
is all we ever had
and brilliant poetry
is never really good
or really bad
it’s that which makes us
glow in the dark
like neon signs
and neon bibles
speaking
and I wonder out loud
if Louis, my father
would like me
now
even though I know
he loved me.
