Louis

I wish I could be a friend to all
like Louis,
for it matters not
to him
if one is a good or bad poet

six degrees of separation
is all we ever had
and brilliant poetry
is never really good
or really bad

it’s that which makes us
glow in the dark
like neon signs
and neon bibles
speaking

and I wonder out loud
if Louis, my father
would like me
now
even though I know
he loved me.

These are the other 2 poems

These are the other 2 poems from 9/16/08 l. Visionary the land of visions floats by like debris in an ocean of dreams mesmerized I am a still life captured in a painting "A Doorway to the Sea" swaying, a Calla Lily rooted in blood and sand 2. Bird Girl Once I was a bird girl inspiration like salt air thick with golden sunlight and iridescent wing I heard the blue calling I heard my spiritual heart beating so I died like a siren's song, like a nascent sky passing through Krishna's hollow flute and if you should feel something beyond which you cannot measure remember your poem as you rise from the depths of an angry sea a leviathan with hungry eyes a Poseidon with tridents of little earthquakes in an Archangel's eternal kiss We are small We are innocent http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EFpbJQ_roKI I forgot to mention the first 3 lines of *VISIONARY* were from a *dance* with Orgami. For some odd reason he's my dancing partner often here at Neopoet.

LOL

Apple Pie Louis/Andrew. Test22 is some of the most thought-stimulating poetry I've read in a long time. (gotta tease ya, buddy) Great tribute to an alter ego. ~Jess K. ---------------------------------------------------- "I just read an article on the dangers of drinking.... Scared the crap out of me. So that's it! After today, no more reading!" - Lex M.

Did you know the correct

Did you know the correct terminology is *altered* ego? Anyway my alter(ed) ego is the rest of the world... Friends. May we live long and prosper ;-) Hugs kiddo, ~A

That's downright amazin'

I allus thought it was altered eagle ... and I was feelin' sorry for the bird. Incidentally, you picked a great combo ... relating to the two Louises, that is. That your father holds the same name---and with identical spelling---is quite a coincidence. If it were otherwise, your piece here'd merit a rewrite. And that'd be sad, because as it is ... it doesn't. Thanx, Chuck

My gratitude and love

My gratitude and love always, Peter. I'm finding my way back to the light once again. It's been a difficult time from the initial reawakening in that Oneness. ~Anna

Anna...

loved your poem about Louis.. many have had fun on his pages and he never responds and yet is a friend to all... I am positive your dad would like you as a person and still love you as the daughter.. he is a part of you! My oldest child is Megan, she is 30 years old and we don't agree on many things but I not only like her.. I love her.. and she does me.. I hope. I could go on and on but I think I see between your lines... your other two poems were very good as well, but this one with the referance to your dad just moved me... I watched the video of the bird girl.. and your poem coincides with the song and the video very well... always a joy reading your writes Anna... Richard

See, Richard my father was

See, Richard my father was bi-polar and doctors wrote journals on him. No medicine was a *treatment* for any length of time. His manic episodes were scary for a child or adult. And I witnessed him being removed by the police as a 6 yr old when he was probated by my mother. I had to probate him too twice after her death. My life has not been *easy* yet, even so I did feel my father's love, because love is all there is once you take the *sickness* away. ~A p.s. glad you enjoy my writes too. there's a plethora of amazing wordsmiths here.

Damn...

although I could see the turmoil between the lines, I never saw that coming... My best internet guess is you've turned out to be quite the lady in spite of life and it's offerings... my best thoughts for you Richard

Anna, such beauty in these two. I loved them and want to read them again later, so I can drink them in until I am full~ "There's no trick to being a humorist when you have the whole government working for you." Will Rogers

melting of hearts

melding of spirits flowing like thick rivers deep coagulant the traffic of currents chords swept underneath and on their way like a bird whose throat sings through the open door locked pining for skies flown in hearts beating intuition Loved this poem to your father as he was and is in you gladness that we can dance upon the glowing page here sifting through chasms of mercy

Hello my friend A powerful poem. Do not feel alone as we are all you friends. Who can judge us. Just because others do not understand your words it is sad for them, and their loss. But they too have to be in the place you are at now. They have to experience this for themselves to truely understand. hang in there. Let you pen flow as the paper waits. I have found that writing is my best friend and councel. I have lost six close ones and wrote a poem called Nowhere Land. Because i was so lost for a long time. But my writing is the only way i found for my grief but the poetry site has been a wonderful friend. Remember my friend, those always remembered are never forgotten. Remenber the memories you have. That no one can take away what the heart knows what the heart feels. But you can visit your sacred place anytime anywhere. This is full of emotion. stay strong my friend

So much to say so little

So much to say so little time one life has... yet I cannot put the pen down until it is done with me... forged from the weaponry and imagery of words steely-eyed we mourn empty chairs~
