Liquid Devil

In amber pools
it flowed,
gentle as
a brook

Alongside of it
I lay,
as a submissive
lover would

I sipped the
luscious bubbles
so cold upon
my lips

The peace
I found in
new-found love
soon had me
in her grip

I had been seduced
preyed upon,
by weakened will

M world turned
upside down
experiencing a
living hell

Amber pools
no longer flow
they've dried
like arid desert

I had to sever
all the ties
to my former
lover;
liquid devil

As always,

you've written a vivid, accessible poem that I really like. The only suggestion I'd make is to be a little more consistent with the meter. For example, In amber pools it flowed, gentle as a brook (Alongside it, I lay, slavish as a lover.) Or, not. I just can't refrain from making suggestions and I'm a meter freak. Good work.
