The Day I Experienced Life

I remember the night

When the moon bled its effulgence 

On the earth

Painting everything

An ethereal silver

That was the day when my heart

Leapt and rejoiced

That was the day when life

Was a progression of precious

Interconnected moments

That was the day 

When God wrote

His chronicles in my heart

That day

I flew like an eagle

Into ever widening expanses

Intoxicated on the nectar 

Of a love supreme 

That was the day 

I recall thinking

If this is life 

I want nothing 

But to live
