ATLANTIS
Way across the Atlantic Ocean
A long way away
And many years ago
The lost land of Atlantis lay
Some say it was real
Others say they do not know
Nestled between the Pillars of Hercules
According to the works of Plato
Lived a people powerful, noble and wealthy
Ruled by the mighty Atlas
Son of Poseidon, god of the sea
Many have searched , but alas
None have found, this city of Atlantis
Where Atlas rode a chariot of gold
Pulled by six winged horses
Did Plato write only to fool
It has endured the ages, this mystery
Did the gods destroy the evil rule
The land of Atlantis had become
Was it swallowed by the angry sea
When Atlas, doomed to shoulder his
Celestial globe, no longer able to be
The mighty ruler of Atlantis
