young love

i just saw them:
two young lovers holding hands
walking, talking
walking, talking
on their cell phones

There is a certain kind of innocence in seeing that. Seeing people before they are introduced to all the complications and confrontations of love and partnership. Its sad. It feels like in some ways it would be wonderful for it to stay like those young people walking down the street carefree and maybe a little unaware. Good write.

Unaware indeed!

They surely appeared totally uconnected, except by the hands not holding the phones... Thanks!

Good write

There's a connection in their unconnectedness as per the hand holding which gives the poem a certain kind of quality.Thank you.

Rob...

short and to the point.. disconnected except for being together... those damn cell phones.. everybody's talking.. nobody watching or listening... I can see the young couple... Richard

Thanks! It was a passing visual image that I hoped would make a haiku, but I couldn't seem to compress it enough.

Thanks!

Thanks! I was afraid this one might come off as a bit geriatric; nice to hear postively from one so young (and talented)!
