Near Death

Spiraling backward through my
life. Happiness, and Tribulations
flash before my eyes.

Far ahead I see a bright light.
I try and push myself towards
the light.

Suddenly at the speed of light,
I'm drawn back to my present
life.

I just then realize, that wonderful
light was the aperture from where
I began my life.

the light

Janice, I've had many living in NYC and the time I spend in the service. so I know what your hubbies been through. the aperture is the first light we see when we come out of the womb. Near death is as if some one hit the rewind button. thanks for your comment Eddie if a man does not know love, he does not know God

Quite an insight,

though it is difficult for some of us to remember the experience we had concerning our first contact with the physical universe, light has been a recurrent theme and in some cases, sound. The poet has succeeded in relaying a 'Near Death' experience in a few words and links it to the time he was born. The aperture seems to depict a hole of white light through which we come in and go out of this world. It also portrays our earthly existence as not being bright enough having been shaded by our happiness and tribulations. A very good write. Well done, Eddie and best wishes. T.

I had a near death experience, where the brilliant white light came and completely enveloped me. At that moment, I believe I was given a choice. I my mind said yes, but my heart said NO. The heart must be the most important one to God, as it won. You have drawn a very good picture of a near death experience. I like your work
