A September Day Remembered

(9/11)

I remember the two twin towers, the pentagon
Standing tall
When two jet liners flying high into their walls
Killing those, we love and cherished
That fear inspiring September day

As victims jump to their demise
First responders rush against the odds
To free the souls trapped inside
As terror grips the hearts watching below

Black looming smoke filled the air
Covering New Yorkers running scared
As the structure come crashing down
Seven years later never forgotten

Delivering Avon orders to one of my customers
I saw the second plane hit the tower
thought she was watching another movie
to my shocked drop open mouth she said it was real

The memorial tomb of their life’s live in the hearts
of everyone.

Barbara

A very touching piece. I have been watching the many documentaries about that day last day or so. There were many heroes.
