Master Slave Concept

Am I the master, or am I the slave?
I am the master of love, but a slave to my heart.
I am the master of my home, but a slave to my family.
I am the master of my business, but a slave to it's production.
I am  the master of my life, but a slave to it's out come.
I am the master of all I do, but a slave of getting it done.
So then, we are all masters and slaves.
It all melts into one.

Masters and slaves

As barbara said nicely summed up, but you made it sound as if you are trapped, I hope it was you on the outside looking in. How many out there are in that spiral, it becomes breathless and unbearable in the end and has to be sorted for the better. Sorry was going on but like to go into a piece and feel around a little then give a word or dozen on aspects of same, Yours. Ian.T

no trap

Ian, it's about realizing what life is, and excepting things for what they are. then we can enjoy our selfs. life then becomes easyer. We are in control up to a point. life is a dance and we can get really good at it, except we don't pick the music. life is a ever changing thing, and it's what keeps it interesting, but it is not a trap for me. Maybe it's something you saw in yourself that made you thing of a trap. I'm just glad that it provoked a thought, read it again maybe you see what it was. Ian thank you so much for your comment, because that's what its about to provoke a thought with words Eddie if a man does not know love, he does not know God

master/slave dichotomy

Hello, Neat, tight poem...enjoyed it. It works by the use of the opposite ideas and the rhyme of the aa bb on the last 4 lines...the idea of personal freedom actually not making you free is what we're all struggling to comprehend as adults, don't you think? Regards, Ellie.

freedom

Ellie, Great, that's half of the idea of what I was writing thank you. The other half is that you except the duality of your role in life, then you become free to grow with no bountiries Ihank you so much. if a man does not know love, he does not know God

Well Written Eduardo

Indeed we are trapped in a vicious cycle. Have you heard "Got to Serve Somebody" by Bob Dylan? Take care ... Leonard
