A CRASH TOO MANY

A CRASH TOO MANY   That was a crash too many, they said   Too many coffins dropping from the sky Counting the dead in scores Of ten in ten places times two Nowhere in the whole wide world

Has ever witnessed these frequent air crashes

That was a crash too many, they said   When it happened the very first time We all asked the rhetorical why? The will of Allah, fate has a hand Let it never happen again, we prayed As we tried to console ourselves   That was a crash too many, they said   What sacred belief in predestination Allows for all the fatalities A frying recipe for human lives Is not what God wants for man Not even the animals in the zoo   That was a crash too many, they said

...

i enjoyed the pace of this piece. my eyes just scrolled down the screen and i found the subject of it interesting....eventhough i normally tend to not like religious references in pieces, this wasn't overbearing. for some reason i'm picking up a sense of religious questioning? i'm not sure if i'm right or not though. one small little thing....i didn't like the repetition of 'that was a crash too many' i feel like it would read alot better if it was at least re-worded. starting off as 'that was a crash too many' , but by the end making almost 'that was the crash that ended it all' or something like that. i only think like that because that is the sense that i get from the end of the poem. almost giving up? i dunno i'm rambling and it is still early in the morning LOL however i really did dig this piece.

Religious undertone

Captainkrash, Our society here is deeply religious, even when a writer may not have any religious affiliation, his writings will reflect the psyche of the people, for example, 'witchcraft' grips Africa with a terrifying fear(read 'witchery', one of the poems I submitted). We pass a lot of things to the will of God even when it requires human change in the way we do things. The repitition is meant to reflect the incessant crashes that continues to take dear lives of our kith and kin, it is still going on even as I write. I would like to 'end it all' if I am assured that we have said bye-bye to air crashes. Thank you very much for your sincere comments and for finding time to read. Best wishes T

God is great. I am not a

God is great. I am not a Muslim but I take what I can from all beliefs, Do unto others as you would have others do unto you. There are many houses in my fathers mansion. Gaia protects all and we need to protect her. The Big Bang created the universe, as did the fuck between Shakti and Shiva. I abhore some beliefs. The Christian concept of orginal sin. Female circumsition. Let's be reasonable, if you believe your truth is truth you are delusional and dangerous. Love is all. cheers, Jess
