Hateful Fiddle

Watch her dance
On the head of a pin
Watch her tears as
She painfully spins

When will she learn
She can't trust the words
When will she see that
Her dreams are absurd

Dance to the music
Dance to the riddle
Dance to the laughter
Of the hateful fiddle

Cry if you must
Laugh when you can
Life is unjust
And never as planned

Who plays the music
That brings her to tears
What makes her dance
To the music she fears

Dancing on the head of a pin? That's like 'Honey, I Shrunk The Kids' on mesculine! You have such a profound way with words, and I enjoy your work. Taking a year of fiddle (violin, actually) in school, I can attest to how hateful it became - though for different reasons than the ones expressed in your poem. Getting the right angle with the bow, otherwise there was a painful screech, making sure there was enough rosin, ughh. Too much work. Gimme a guitar any day. :~) ~Jess ---------------------------------------------------- "I hope no one asks me to show them the ropes; I have no idea where they are. Maybe I can pull some strings and find out...." - George Carlin

Thanks Linda

Smiles:) Barbara Thanks for the congrats, I guess spinning on a needle head and a hateful fiddle is two separate entities of pain. LOL. I'm off the boat as usual.

Hi Linda...

put me in mind of the old music boxes with the ballerina... with some scritchily hateful but exhilirating fiddle playing and keeping the tempo... eerily.. I loved it. Richard

more profundity here than at first meets the eye. My hat's respectfully doffed. Thanx, Chuck

Hi Linda

Great thought and wisdom written and spoken, each stanza flowed very well and cleverly thought through, (On the head of a pin) really liked this line, but set/led the rest of the poem brilliantly, Very best regards Peter ~~~~~~~~~Creativity Is to think more efficiently~~~~~~~~~~
