DESERT STORM
DESERT STORM
Claims countered claimsAround the Euphrates plains
Oil boiled in the desertWhere Tigris flows in portions
Gulf is east in the middle And flames from oil Like dragon the beast Fried lives for unwanted toast Blames were shifted from man to manOn Iraq, Kuwait and Saudi
The out-pouring Allies moved in As the precious black fluid Leached on sandy dunes While ocean showed the sleek Arab on Arab violation cannot be a Jihad Talks out-smarted talks Prolonged delays dragged unsettled Patience to her limits Till dateline is past and gone Storm gathered on the desert The mother of all battles began As another yelled for help From fear of loosing the land and oil Sovereignty is invaded Rights gone with the wind Committed parties had long before The resurfaced hurricane wind Blown from the westerly Crossed the Rubicon on monsoon And gathered the allies in league With tanks of mass destruction On heavy artillery mounted Against the republican guards Cyclone roved Rocks cannoned down the sandy plainIn the ocean of India, as on land
The whirlwind encircled And spiral waves brought afloat Deadly submarine shots on targets Coast is cleared of mines for landing Metal birds flew from floating mansions Of fire and smoke spitting rockets In formation with anti-scud The skies of Baghdad were litKuwait was liberated.
