Eight-ball Hardluck Johnson
He probably came into being, feeling so small,
for his family was very quite large.
I would've been one to help bury him,
if we'd had left Fate, to be in charge.
In a closet, he'd hung on a purse-strap.
After mouth-to-mouth, and a massaged heart;
he ended up almost a normal kitten.
Only one, with a precarious start.
"Eight-ball", is what I did name him.
Eight-ball Johnson, to be precise.
That's the total of lives that he has left,
so he'd better learn quick, to play "nice".
While handing out names, I added "Hardluck".
Eight-ball Hardluck Johnson, in full.
He's like a "crazed, real-life-cartoon cat";
so living with him's, not real dull.
Now, Opie Artemis Taylor
showed Buck Stonehenge Maverick, the "ropes".
Opie has an abundance of "patience",
where Buck sits alone, and just "mopes".
But, Eight-ball had better be careful,
and I accentuate this, in this verse;
he'd be lucky to be "7-up", or "Six-pack",
for Buck would pick a name, that's much worse !
for his family was very quite large.
