Eternal Maiden

Spring, the eternal maiden
  Her youth now in bloom
Breaks your heart and runs away

Eternal Maiden

Linda I thought this to flow well just a suggestion, [and I don't know if I am right] maybe a comma after spring? Take it or throw it to the wind~

What a brevity?

With only three lines, the poet conveys the message of a changing season, where spring is the maiden blooming in her youth and running away with the approaching season. The beauty of this poem lies in its ability to let you see other meanings that may not have been considered by the author. For example, Spring could be a very attractive young woman in her youth who dumps her lover and takes another or for all of us, resigning from what we once held so dear. I can go on and on like this in the appreciation of 'ETERNAL MAIDEN'. Linda, Bravo, this is really good. Cheers!

Well done Linda, I can imagine some saying it is easy to write something with just three lines to mean so much. It isn't, but you have hit it well and true. Yours Ian.T

Thank you so much for reading and kind comments. You are right, I had to put more thought into 3 lines than I do a freeform poem.

Could you be Spring?

I dunno...I was just wondering about the inspiration behind the poem. They say that we always write about ourselves even if we don't intend to, so. I was just curious :) I really liked it:) takes some skill to put in meaning with just three lines peace, Soph~
