CRUCIFIXION

CRUCIFIXION

The Man of Suffering ( Isaiah 53:3) struggled with the weight
Of the cross, as He stumbled down the Via Delorosa

The cross heavy with our sins and disbelief
Cruelly whipped ‘til nearly dead, for us He shed
His precious blood, Christ of God (Luke 9:20)

The Rose of Sharon (Solomon 2:1) the Savior of
Us all, The Holy One of God (Mark 1:24)

They led Him on to Calvary, to crucify Him cruel
This Lamb of God, (John 1:29) a sacrifice for all
Our Lord Of All ( Acts 10:36)

He gave His life that we might live
To save us from eternal hell

The Savior (Luke 2:11) of all mankind
Our Bright and Morning Star (Rev. 22:16)
The Lily of The Valley (Solomon 2:2)
The One who is the great I Am (John 8:58)

How long shall we be as Peter
Who denied Him twice
Then denied Him thrice

How long, before we call upon His name
Jesus, Jesus, the sweetest name there is
The Alpha and the Omega (Rev. 22:13)
Our gentle Lamb of God

Excellent

and a very good use of scripture. Well done my friend. Respectfully, Rett: "Life is like a beach. Salty, gritty, somewhat fishy and at other times, downright crabby!" Rett 2008.

Biblical References

Good risk of putting biblical references in the poem, it really brings it out. It's refreshing to hear how Jesus died for the sins of man just so that we can walk this earth. It truly makes me think why I even exist in this world for. Good poem.

Linda

Yes, the intermingling of scripture was risky, but you pulled it off very well. Nice read. ~Jess ---------------------------------------------------- "I hope no one asks me to show them the ropes; I have no idea where they are. Maybe I can pull some strings and find out...." - George Carlin
