Two Poems of Living

Luminous Life

Ahhh....
Luminous Life
how you deceive me!
how you take from me all that I am
and leave me nothing to speak of...
how you torment me
with my own tears
and ridicule me
with my own fears
how sublime you are!
how wondrous your imagination,
how unpredictable a friend,

my Beloved Lover, you steal from me
my very own breath
you shatter everything that has ever been mine.

An Honest Life

How brilliantly honest life is,
all that is yours
all that is mine
can never add
or subtract
even one moment.

The night falls without question,
thoughts come and go.

Hi Anna...

Life is truly unpredictable and brutally honest... and as long as we wake up in the morning... we get to do it again! Richard

Yes sirreeee!! The miracle is that we are here to awaken morning after morning. And much of the time we fill it with complaints. ;-) ~a

I adore your poetry

I almost gave up reading before the last 2 stanzas. Then you raised from the trite to the sublime, respectfully cheers, Jess

Applause

Masterfully done Anna. Was wondering how you would end it and I must say you did it superbly. I must say you are quite the poet and I tip my hat to you, at least I will as soon as I find the dang thing. Well done. Respectfully, Rett: "The only thing observable with the naked eye to exceed the speed of light is rumor" Unknown

Perhaps if you ask your kitty where your hat is? I'm sure s/hes in cahoots with the rat, God knows where they managed to hide it. ;-) Now, I've got to run... find my horse. Lost my knight in shining armor quite some time ago. ~A
