HIDE !

Death is riding through the sky tonight
He's slapping  leather on his ghostly steed

He's riding hard, and grinning wide
I know not who he seeks

But I'll tell you one thing now, my friend
If you know what is best

You'll hide your head
under that pillow

Under that pillow
On your bed

He'll stake his claim
"Fore the sun does rise

His pale white steed is breathing fire
HIs eyes as burning coals

The contract in the hand of Death
Is signed in human blood

So remember one thing, my friend
Remember I told you so

Death is on the hunt, tonight
If you know what is best

You'll stay out of sight
Stay out of sight tonight

Love this Linda

Truly magnificent! If I may be so bold as to make one suggestion for a smoother read. I would change this line..."He’s slapping leather on his pale white ghostly steed" to either "He’s slapping leather on his pale white steed" or "He’s slapping leather on his ghostly steed". Just a suggestion as always. It is your poem above all else. Damn, this one is good! Respectfully, Rett: "Life is like a beach. Salty, gritty, somewhat fishy and at other times, downright crabby!"
