JULY 26 AIR CRASH

JULY 26 AIR CRASH

The spirit was undaunted It was like it never happened Courage bred a nut out of hubris Jealousy wore green and followed Beckoning yet another fall   Priapus pilot in perfect failure Missed the targeted threshold, Spinning on anthill that dragged The exodus on rampage Fire flayed, falsehood lived a lie   Minds in conflict wondered, As it happened the fourth time Within three lunar cycles, Was weather or human error, a curse? That invoked the rites to appease   Litigation countered Claims and compensation Upon a mountain of loss Pitfalls in business, like in life Called the stock to check the balance

July 26

Very well written, with depth and feeling, and the realisation of the findings of such a thing, where time means only agony to those affected, not to those that process the problem. Thanks for this piece, Yenti

Appreciation

Thank you for the comment and for the reading. Actually the airline is no longer in operation due to five crashes. The Insurance company can't pay for the last one that happened two years ago and the relations of the victims have not been compensated.

oh dear, I had to look up Priapus

my association with the word was priapitic- a painfully constantly erect penis. Perhaps not so different after all. Don't mean to make light of your poem which is beautifully and powerfullly written as I have come to expect. cheers, Jess

You are right

You are right. This very pilot's pre-occupation was to chase girls. Figuratively speaking, he was more or less holding his penis in his hand any time he saw a girl. No wonder, on the day of the crash, he put the aircraft on autopilot and was busy chatting with girls in the cabin. This distraction cost the company he worked for dearly. This informed the injection of the word priapus or rightly put priapitic. Thank you for the observation, the comment and for always being there.
