O God, Ronda, this is

O God, Ronda, this is beautiful. Thank you for honouring me with your reading my work and commenting. We share the same vision, hear the same sounds, "this ordinary rhapsody" so brilliantly composed, played and danced. Love and blessings, Anna

Aww, Anna. You’ve got me

Aww, Anna. You've got me blushing! This is one of those pieces that I'm not exactly happy with yet, so I posted it here to get some feedback. I am the one who is honoured. love to you ~ Ronda

Ronda

Just one mistake, this isn't an ordinary rhapsody. To those of us that hear it often it may be, but to those who have never taken the time, it is a symphony. Wonderful music you painted. I might even go so far as to say, brilliant, but I'd hate to give you a swelled head. *S* Respectfully, Rett: "Life is like a beach. Salty, gritty, somewhat fishy and at other times, downright crabby!" Rett 2008.

I promise to control any signs of head swelling. Sheesh, you two. And I actually didn't even like this one! Thank you, Rett. It's good to know someone hears the music. :) ~ Ronda

You are a beautiful writer and I enjoy every one of your poems, this one included! The whole theme here is keeping your eyes closed, until the very end in italics you have "open you eyes" which I think could be left out [for more effect] or add two more lines to go with it? This is merely my humble suggestion.

Choice ...

uses of verbs, nice intermingling of senses ... and their subtleties of perception. Seems to be the feel somewhat of a haiku at play here (and there): long grasses whisper along the road awakened to conversation by the speed of a passing truck Thanx, Chuck PS: And of course it can be improved. But no matter: I think anything can. In fact, I wish this were longer. But as it stands, it's quite wonderful.

I agree, Chuck

Anything can be improved. It would not be uncommon for me to run across this piece in the future and perform quite a few nips, tucks, etc. Well, maybe not nips and tucks, considering you already wish it were longer. You know what I mean, though. Thanks for reading and I'm glad you enjoyed this piece. Best, ~ Ronda

That's such a beautiful song

... I fell in love with it in "Dreamgirls." There was actually a movie that inspired this piece, "August Rush." It's a corny little film, but I loved the idea of music in every aspect of the world. ~ Ronda

An ordinary Rhapsody

Rhonda How can any rhapsody, be ordinary? Rhapsodies are are exquisite to those who hear. I have read this and it reminds me of my poem Lonely Hearts. You have commented on a few of my poems and now i here hooked on your every word. If only people took the time to stand still - close their eyes - and feel the elements sing to them. They will become so alive and remember this experience always. electricblue

I love this one, Ronda,

makes me think of summer holidays, when I lie on the beach or on the lawn, or sit in the forest and finally have the time to listen to all those sounds... Funnily enough I am trying to write a poem on snow and silence, which would be like an answer to your piece, if only I could make ends meet... Thanks for this beautiful and positive poem, Ink

Little sounds too

I have been working on sounds even more needed to be listened to. I jumped with joy when i saw you had been working on the same theme. I have not composed anything yet but have a strange little collection of such just waiting, like you. How I agree. Here speaks the poet, the artist, the seer of life to the full, seeing with all the senses the great and wonderful variety of happenings, in the most banal of settings as much as in the dramatically beautiful. I had a painting class and I told them to paint the two apples in front of them, did they SEE the apples NO! They painted the symbol apple from their heads, their memory of what an apple is, round, green, a stalk etc, when I pointed out the reflection from the one to the other, the strange bumps on the one apple they exclaimed in total surprise, they hadn't noticed anything of that sort. I decided the only reason for me being there as their painting teacher was to stand on a high podium and shout sporadically SEE. Perhaps we, poetic people are here to give others the eyes they haven't got. Its the brain that sees. Thank you for being a poet Ronda. Ann of Norway
