WHEN WE MET
WHEN WE MET When at first we met each otherAt the Gamtel booths by the cross-roadsWe coded our terms of understandingTo be friends and to maintainOur cherished moment of union When we met each otherFajara was leading SerekundaKanifin emptied our journey into YundumBanjul was the earliest bed of nurseryFor a rare breed of seedlings When we met each otherThe blossomed friendship from TendabaO! Sweet smelling roses, of colours and shades,Amidst enchanting apples of love;Blessed is our day of discovery. When we met each otherThe swift trans-continental windMoist across the western plainsReflected rainbow against the rising sunA covenant of light and life was made Now that we have metEach year brings baskets of joyI am happy it was youI fervently prayed and desiredTo meet and share these cycles of rebirth.
