A Fresh Start

A  Fresh Start

Lightening, flash and thunder roar
Light and dark patterns roll by
My landscape is changed.

As my past dies, my future begins.
Yesterday is a rival of a newborn day.

This is my chance, this is my sway,
To close the door on mistakes.
To start afresh is my promise made.

A perfect poem

A perfect poem to follow the hating poem Phoenix :~) Personally and a bit on the trivial side I myself try not to put the same words on top of each other (or even near each other) Sometimes (I think) it cannot be avoided but I work at it :~) Thanks, Mark

Thank You

That is an interesting way to write. I have never given it thought. I think may be when I write it is all there. I just write what comes out. An idea comes and I let it out. I am curious though what poem, do you speak of "the hating" poem? I had not thought any of my poems were angry or hateful. Thank you again for the read and comment. Do keep reading,commenting.. :) Dana

Great write. A refreshing look and a very good suggestion. Srart anew. Loved it. Respectfully, Rett: "Life is like a beach. Salty, gritty, somewhat fishy and at other times, downright crabby!" Rett 2008.

Hi Rett,

Thank you. That is an old poem but I still feel the same as I did when I wrote it. I used to think mistakes were forever. I feel you have to forgive yourself everyday for whatever you didn't do the way you think you should have. Thanks again Dana

Excellent attitude

Hello Jonathan,

I agree. I try to always remember choices drive us all. If we get a new day, we get another chance. I don't drag yesterdays mistakes with me. I do my best to reconcile them before I sleep. It works for me. Thanks for the read. Dana
