Death Smiles

Death Smiles

I shall die one-day
devouring brunch
before my final breathe

This cold world will no longer
behold me in its wicked clutches
having no mercy

A slow demise
trying to stay afloat
in a world passing away

Drowning in my pain
deteriorating flesh
death stalks

Money rule hearts
turn arctic by greed
rips the fabric of my existence

Death Smiles

Barbara, this is a deep piece of poetry, makes me want to shiver. As I have said before, my thoughts are with you, in that they will find some relief for your pain.

Death comes to all

That is the one absolute in life. Some will live long lives, some short and others in between. I live on borrowed time and have been for years. So far I have cheated death 3 times, possibly four. Three for sure. One mugging and two heart attacks. Sooner or later the book will open again, and my name will be top of the list. I have had a good run with no overpowering regrets of what I have done. When the scales stop swinging I hope my life will be on the positive side. If not, then so be it. I lived it on my terms and will face the consequences. Great write Barbara. Gives me a lot to think about. Respectfully, Rett: "Life is like a beach. Salty, gritty, somewhat fishy and at other times, downright crabby!" Rett 2008.

Death comes to all

Smiles:) Barbara That is a certainty death comes to all so i try to live my life the right way though i make mistakes I have no serious regrets either. true in the end we are all accountable for what decision we have made. God created us so he knows our dilemma and forgives us. thanks for reading and sharing your story. appreciate you stopping by giving it high praises.

Barbara

I know I'll be smiling when I go, because if the Christian faith is accurate, there's a lot of good waitin' for me! Not only that, but if I've been suffering, I won't have to worry about it anymore. I just hope it comes quickly, and doesn't toy me about too much.... Very dark write, Barbara - gave me the heebie jeebies. ~Jess ---------------------------------------------------- "Just 'cause you have one, doesn't mean you need to be one....."

Thanks Jess

Smiles:) Barbara Yes Jess in death truly their is no suffering as I wait for the day when I get to live in that place in my poem "Peaceful Times" and get to see those I love again who has passed on in death. I talk about death, but i fear it not. I hope when it comes i drift away peacefully looking up at heaven knowing God will keep in his memory. Thanks for commenting and sharing your take on this poem always appreciate.
