FANATICAL BIGOTORY

FANATICAL BIGOTORY Union of partitioned sectsOn ten-coded commandments, borrowedFrom Hamurabi as heritage to the past.Must your judgments and testimoniesWithout rays of light and spectaclesAs revelation in voices singAnd compel me to be born again Must mutual friendship be betrayedBy illusions of belief, in claimsOf self made uprightnessIn holier than thou attitudeSee others as legions of darknessAnd assign them vain, void and ingloriousTheir hearts’ intimate realization? Ignorance, intolerance and superstitionAre the ageless diseases of our timeThough with infants’ guiseConstitute modern demons explainingMagic and miracle without substancesIn the knowledge of the book of manAnd the laws of nature The mind like an umbrellaFunctions best when it is openShielding showering raindropsFrom impeding our visionUshering discernment and understandingOf the principles and of the universeWhich guide our evolution and liberate our souls

Very true

There are the Christians who want everyone to believe their way, the Atheists whose religion is non belief and want everyone to cater to their way, The Muslims who don't like the Christians or the Jews who mistrust the Muslims and the Christian who mistrust them and the others who absolutely hate everyone but themselves. It is a never ending cycle. Everyone is too dang self centered to tolerate anything they don't believe in. I wish the world would grow up. Great write sir! Respectfully, Rett: "On life; Ah such a wondrous thing, beauty and love to behold and experience! On death; I can wait to see..." Rett 2008.

Thank you

Thank you Rett, I hope it does not make me look like a skeptic, it is just the excesses in religious tendencies we have around here. Thank you again for the reading and the comment.

Sir, whether you are a skeptic

or not is of no moment. What you are is a poet and a good one. Poets write their feelings, their opinions or beliefs. All of the former subject to change without notice. *S* Rett: "On life; Ah such a wondrous thing, beauty and love to behold and experience! On death; I can wait to see..." Rett 2008.

I'll Second That,, Sir !

Brilliant poem! As for me, well I'm sick to death about hearing what the church of england think about homosexual priests; I tire about not offending the islamic viewpoint etc etc. Its all tiresome! If people want to believe in a god/or no god - then fine, but please I don't want to read about it in my daily newspaper or hear about it on television/radio. I have my beliefs, but that is all they are; I have no proof to offer. Here is a question:- If we had no religion would we all get on better ? Me, I say a resounding YES !!!I shall finish with a quote from Osho - "Priests are the Mafia of the Soul". Sorry for my meander through a minefield, but hold on - Am I not entitled to my opinion?! As long as its not in the newspaper !!! Lenny
