last night I heard ...

last night ...

I heard you tell me
something

that I could not/
would not

hear

---------

just now ...

from across
a jam-packed room,

I see your smile and ...
your moving red

of lip

pointed right at me
that say a thing---

I know not what---
that I like

Wow! This is very different for you Chuck

Glad to see you branching out, without losing your quality of language. Hope that doesn't sound patronising, would be like an ant patronising a tree. clearly no crit, you are nearly impeccable in that respect. cheers, Jess

I like this

This is very different & less complicated than your other works. So, at the first instance the other person said some thing you wouldn't expect to hear and the second time it was different? Please tell me if I've understood it correctly or if I've misunderstood the whole thing. Could you also wxplain what you meant by "I know not what—-that I like". Do you mean here again that it was also not what you were expecting? However , in my heart I'd like it if in the second instance, the messege had been what you've been looking forward to hear. I feel some familier vibration when I read this. Best Regards, Nilmini
