Three Poems of July 26, 2008

1.

Daybreak

Time
pulls another day
from nothing at all

we are lost
in its splendor

like white rabbits
with pink eyes
from a Magician's hat.

2.

Stranger Birth

I have surrendered my identity
taken back my aversion
fear and loathing,
my residual ego
revised the final revision
in the labyrinth of my mind,
I picked apart the Shasta Daisy
in the question of do or don't,
I danced ten thousand dances
on the lotus flower of perception,
clarified the ghee
in harmony,

I beheld the Eucharistic Light in the
densest forest where not even the
sound of a falling tree or leaf is heard

I swallowed
the Holiest Communion
and sooner than later I
welcomed the stranger
back into myself.

3.

Untitled (2)

Sometimes you walk into the night
with your eyes closed
and all you see is empty eyes
all around you

and you wonder
how to climb the mountain
with sunburned feet

you can hear the wind
against your tent of dreams
you are ready to write
your last poem

but the pen you reach for
turns into a rose
and your mouth
bleeds like a stone.

All three contain haunting

All three contain haunting images, but the second is probably my favorite of the bunch. An interesting array of your talent. ~ Ronda
