Winters Night
The snow flakes fell softly
Through the crisp air
As if in slow motion
While the night winds slumbered
The full moon was high
and he cast his light down
Then sprinkled the silent snow
All around with diamonds
Not a sound was heard
Save the soft crunch of my boots
As I tread on the blanket of snow
The sky was clear, and it too
had diamonds
shining in harmony with
the white, glistening snow below
It was a soft winters night
many years ago
And I remember it still
Through the crisp air
As if in slow motion
While the night winds slumbered
The full moon was high
and he cast his light down
Then sprinkled the silent snow
All around with diamonds
Not a sound was heard
Save the soft crunch of my boots
As I tread on the blanket of snow
The sky was clear, and it too
had diamonds
shining in harmony with
the white, glistening snow below
It was a soft winters night
many years ago
And I remember it still
