Foreplay of the Demons

Foreplay of the Demons

I watched the battle raging
Across the rank and file
While music was a-playing
And Satan danced in style

The courtroom lay in Chaos
And the judge was screaming loud
While Satan stood there laughing
At the foreplay of his crowd

All of them were wrestling
Copulating on the floor
While the crowd stood outside
And raised a muted roar

The foreplay of the demons
Was shown there on Tee Vee
And the public sat there mesmerized
As Satan laughed with glee

The judge stood by helplessly
As truth was knocked awry
While the foreplay of the demons
Made justice sit and cry

The copulation was frenzied
An orgy borne of fury
And as Satan stood there laughing
Not Guilty, returned the jury

Thank you T

I appreciate it. This is basically a compilation of all the trials where killers, rapists, murderers and child molesters have gotten off free because of a technicality or extremely good representation by their liars,,, oops, I meant lawyers. Well there ya go… go on

Well there ya go... go on trial and get a just reward... ;-) A poet here in Cleveland spent 12 years behind bars for something he didn't commit. REALLY! Who says trials are truly *tried*? However, we don't (yet) live in a society where passing out flyers could land you in a torture room - not even a court room visit between stops. We're all voyeurs. Peace Now. Love Always. Anna

You are just determined to take the other side ain'tcha? *LOL* Thanks for reading and commenting. I appreciate it. Yeah, my son in law watches court TV and Divorce court and all of that. voyeurs we are! Besides, poets that read in public might have other bad habits you know. *wink* Rett: "A lie gets halfway around the world before the truth has a chance to get its pants on." Winston Churchill

If you have then you already know. That reminds me. I need to post my poem about my first public poetry reading. I called it "Virgin Sacrifice". *L* Rett: "A lie gets halfway around the world before the truth has a chance to get its pants on." Winston Churchill

I think the rhyme and rhythm of this poem are great! I notice that many have left nice comments, but only one person has voted for this poem so far. Don't forget to vote for this poem! Sincerely, Michael

I am so glad you liked it and thanks for the vote of confidence. Thank you for the comment on the rhyme and rhythm as I work hard to try to get this stuff right and it is nice when people notice. Justice is blind

I like the subject and the style you used... on the other hand, I see a place for further editing, if you seek smoother reading. The first stanza is excellent, but then the rhyming pattern and the meter started to swing! I thought of this for the second stanza The courtroom was in Chaos The judge was a-screaming loud While Satan stood there laughing At the foreplay of his crowd enjoyable one...thank you Rett!

Very good suggestion, thank you. I made the recommended changes. It reads a lot better now. Sometimes you get too close to something and miss the obvious. I appreciate it no end. Rett: "A lie gets halfway around the world before the truth has a chance to get its pants on." Winston Churchill

I Like this one

You have the wisdom of truth.......... This is how things roll on earth but, Justice will come to all who believe ........... maybe not in this lifetime, Forgive them for they know not what they do. If I had one wish it would be for satan to go away and take temptation and evil with him. Oh yes that will happen..I think not soon enough.... ...... then in church 13 more people are saved... .. what to pray for... His will be done.
