Random Thoughts Upon a Page

Random Thoughts Upon a Page

Tis me, said I to no one there
‘Cept shadows on the wall
Hark these cautious ears of mine
Partakes of creaks in yon hall
Gone now the griffin, the unicorn
And dragons steeped in lore
Yet still they live within my mind
Hidden ‘neath my study’s floor

Forsooth, say I to type writ page
Where words on paper tumbled
What matter beauteous words so eld
Lie buried on paper crumbled
For words like sheep do follow
The quill in ink cruel dipped
And bleat out their protest
As sheared by pens and clipped

Repent thy heathen words of late
No beauty entwined therein
Swell thy breast with intook breath
O’er a feast to eyes near sin
Partake of sweetest reminence
With wonder thy breathless need
As words grow upon thy page
As doth flowers sprout from seed

*takes away Olde English dictionary* - The first couple of stanzas sound almost like a fairy tale. Like a bedtime story almost. Kind of stumbled on the line "Doth hear stealthy footsteps in yon hall." as it doesn't flow well with the rest of the surrounding lines. Maybe a shorter synonym like sleek in place of stealthy? Nice job, I don't think I've seen anyone have random thoughts in old English....interesting. ~Jess K. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ "As I was going up the stair, I met a man who was not there, he wasn't there again today, I wish that man would go away!"

*LOL*

The mind in ways mysterious doth work. And eld doth wither bones both brittle and leached. Forsooth I see what thou doth mean in yon line and shall partake of quill and correct mine error dire. Thank you. Rett: "A lie gets halfway around the world before the truth has a chance to get its pants on." Winston Churchill

You're such a dork! I just couldn't resist it my friend. Sometimes things get away with me. BTW, who is that man not standing on the stair? Rett: "A lie gets halfway around the world before the truth has a chance to get its pants on." Winston Churchill

Thank you

Sometimes my thought run through meadows, sometimes through the past and sometime the present. I won't talk about the other times. *LOL* Glad you liked it. Rett: "A lie gets halfway around the world before the truth has a chance to get its pants on." Winston Churchill
