Naked Breathe

 your exposer is contrived
those garments scrapes
when will you concede
to common adornments?

that medallion is misused
as well as those shoes
why make a statement ?

it is what everyone wears
fad, hip, and flare
sport your sleazy garb
among our pressed duds
How dare you
Ragged One!

I like that poem…it

I like that poem...it reminds me of people misuseing a title or an image. Not quite sure what you meant in it, but it reaches my imagination anyway.

Thanks Richard

It has a few pokes at those who wear costumes, and poke those who are more casual without costume. In ink, Dabbler

interesting

I, too thought this was about today's youth - didn't even think to relate it to costumes (though I suppose some of the crap today's kids wear ARE costumes!) Nice job. ~Jess K. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ "As I was going up the stair, I met a man who was not there, he wasn't there again today, I wish that man would go away!"

Clothes for thought!

I enjoyed this poem, and it reminded me of my Mum who always shouted at me for being scruffy!YEP!I was!And I got it to a fine art form, especially when I grew a beard - my Mum refused to allow me into her house! It shows how people can be affected by what is worn, and what isn't!I myself am a scruffy long haired poet(still! - sorry Mum!!!),and will always remain so! Great piece!Well dressed too! LoC
