A Summer's Day

It's a beautiful summer day...
perfect peacock-blue skies
a white cloud or two just for punctuation
neighborhood children play
parents with short tempers yell and shout
sadly
children mostly live what they learn...
yesterday an officer was shot in the line of duty
first one ever in Twinsburg, Ohio
a teenager passes by a smiling child...
excited to show him something
or another...
"that's neat, little brother." he says,
and goes on his way...

I wonder how many summers are like clouds
and what tales will be passed
to the next generation....

I wonder if we will have forgotten this summer..
when we might have made a difference.

Nicely descriptive and

well formulated. I could visualize everything. Well done! Rett: "At twenty, if you are not a Liberal, you have no heart. At Thirty, if you are not a Conservative, you have no brain." Winston Churchill

Actually the picture

is made totally in Bryce 5.5 a 3D rendering program. Most of the pictures, not all, are done in either Bryce or Vue d'Esprit and are totally from imagination. *S*, thank you very much. Johannesburg, eh? I always

Johannesburg, eh? I always wanted to go on an African Safari as a child... Lord, I've been all over the world in my poems, and I suppose my poems have gone all over the world... but to be able to see your summer clouds... ummm. delicious... and decadent I am sure... Welcome to Neopoet. Anna

Hi Anna...

We can not wing the world.. I feel your poem as there are times I could have done or said the better thing, and then maybe, just maybe... well written, carried much from this piece.. Richard

We can only do what we do…

We can only do what we do... and let the rest take *wing*... I subscribe by "Father, forgive them they know not what they do". If I knew better I'd do *better*, hopefully. ;-) Always appreciate your presence & comments Richard... Thank you. ~Anna
