Random Moments of Kindness

A few details came up this morning
I crossed them off my list

wanting just to be alone
in a place out of the way

where the sun and sky give growing things
their necessary means
and the pressure of the shining clouds
holds time still for a while

as I feel myself lightly restrained
by a pleasure that's un-named

this basis for an outlook
that has been misconstrued
as disregard and disdain
of work and  other ethics

the preference of a slower pace
is not perceived by many
to possess intrinsic  value

but I hold myself ready
because the days and times
perfect balance occurs

are  random and rare and precious

Random Moments of Kindness

Great title, language use, the poem flows well, this all works well. I like the simplicity of the piece, and your comment about liking to lie in the grass only adds to the serenity. Second line "then" I think you meant "them" Nicely written. Best, ~ Ronda
