WHO ARE YOUR ENEMIES

WHO ARE YOUR ENEMIES

I do not know my enemies It may well be myself and only By those degrading personal attributes, The short coming inadequacies of self   Like egoistic vengeful spirit Excessive urge for sex and lust for women Thunderous anger in lightening speed And over-valued self in boastful mockery   Who are the wolves in sheep skin? Except those who come to steal and destroy They are agents of darkness and evil Their end is a distasteful story to tell   Those who hate you are your enemies

From the first time they set their eyes on you

They declare war of cheating and rivalry To constitute enemies of progressive living   There are those who cannot approach you Their selfish complex desires and greed Turn them, for no just reason, against you

They make you sick for being sick themselves

These household enemies of yore and now Our fathers’ brothers and sisters In witchcraft and sorcery

They think, I suppose, your failure is their success

There are enemies also in ignorance Their perceived reality is not actuality As their beliefs are buried in superstition

They convene councils to judge their follies

For those who are jealous Of my success and steady growth I say this to them, take heart For there is nothing you can do   My enemies are dead On each attainment that I make To evolve and to reconstruct This wonderful experience that is my life

Their perceived reality is not actuality

that is a brilliant line. An idea held to be self evidently true is a sign of psychological delusion. It applies to most people who have faith in any particular religious creed. To evolve and to reconstruct I share with you this task, not an easy one, especially denied to the weak minded who resort to faith... I only refer to a small part of your thought provoking poem. I congratulate you. cheers, Jess

A very interesting poem!

Your poem contains many interesting ideas. Particularly I like your comparison of the internal enemies that we all have within us such as personal character flaws, to the external enemies that we have, being those people who hate us simply for the accomplishments that we have been able to achieve that they were not able to attain. This is a very thought-provoking poem. Sincerely, Michael

Mona

Sometime I find the use the word 'enemy' as a knife that further divides the human race, especially on issue that can be resolved without bitterness. But the truth is, there are enemies out there for individuals and nations as well. We need peace, love and harmony to experience the fullness of life. Again thanks for the rating, I appreciate your comments. Best wishes. T.
