Share a Memory

As one remembers a war,
and age discerns, which one,
but, a story is about to bust free;
we'll all enjoy the topic,
when all's said, and done
as we sit to share a memory.

Sometimes, a "holiday"
will startle one's heart,
and then, feelings will leak out of Thee;
but, Tavern, or not
the topic will start,
as one stands, to share a memory.

And people will come,
to hear of a tale,
and, of the mood that builds, steadily;
I know I can't help it,
my resistance will fail,
when I grab hold, a memory.

I react, as I do
because, I happen to learn
from the stories, folks share with me;
pass one "round, again
and we'll all take a turn,
as we partake, of a memory.

Doc

memories make the world go round. Seems like only yesterday when I was thumbing through the south. Now I'm an old man with grandkids. Well done! 5/5 Rett: Nancy Astor: “Sir, if you were my husband, I would give you poison.” Churchill: “If I were your husband I would take it.”
