Three Poems of July 6, 2008

She

She took the parable of time into Her
waterlily hands
placed it
high into the Night
and so
Moon
was born
shining
with Sun's Light.

Peace

You can't take that away from me
you can't curse me with figs
upon your lips
don't pray for me
with a Bukowski poem
bleeding a dark-red truth
like a rosetta stone
unearthed
behind Catherine's
white-washed cottage

You can't keep me in your dark dream
and where the wild columbine grow
near the North yard
the ocean breeze kisses
the grey horizon
like a sand mandala of mercy
and where the transparent sky
falls back into the sea,
I walk through
an open door,
ravaged by the Light,
my begging bowl
burning holes in the
setting sun.

Lillian's Poppies

There are black and white poppies
in Lillian's kitchen
no poppy should ever be
black and white
poppies
are translucent
against the light,
a blood-red orange prayer
in fingers
that can never be tender
enough
to do no harm
in a blazing field
of rage.

Anna

"She" and "Peace" are my favorites here, although "Lillian's Poppies" is full of colorful imagery and metaphor. The beauty and grace of "She" pull me gracefully in to a moment beneath the moon. Lovely, really. ~ Ronda

Thanks Ronda, Ink. I was computerless for a few days, not knowing if it was forever dead. Luckily, my son fixed it... all my *victim* tapes were replaying... and then acceptance happened.... no one and nothing can take my peace without my permission. Love. Anna

Lol. Rondahhhh, I wanted to

Lol. Rondahhhh, I wanted to post a July 4th poem... though it's a couple of years old... I'll post it here. I Am An American I am an American, though I wasn't born here, my children were and my parents came to provide a better life for their children's children... I will not be silenced I will not be a coward I hold true the unalienable right to speak my truth and to make sure "YOU" also can speak from your heart. I will not disrespect nor find words to harm you I will be the light in Freedom's hand, guiding a return to the heartland of America, that which was the ideal for which we stand and fly our flag. That there is always a truth greater than the sum of its parts, that parting any sum will tear us apart. That there is a voice to be heard above the mob rule, that of intelligence, education and a compassionate willingness to be wrong when faced with the evidence of truth. That when the flag is lowered at night and the freedom we breathe lets us sleep in peace, we will not stand mutely or blindly when the rest of world cannot sleep, eat or live in peace. That a dialogue is held in every heart for it is here that truth begins and it begins with me. 2006 Peace, Anna

It's great, Anna

All so true and aptly stated. I've been taking on more political stances myself. Getting into trouble in areas that I used to avoid! tsk tsk me! ~ Ronda
