The Invasion of the Feline Imps (take two)
While making my way to the bedroom, last night,
I stumbled onto a mind-blowing sight;
I found there are Imps, of the Feline persuasion,
and apparently, they'd begun their Imp-like invasion,
these invaders had made themselves, part of an equation
that did not suit me, quite right.
To start with, their energy level far surpassed mine,
and to end with, the two were both way outta line;
the velocity with which the two romped, left me reeling,
every movement made was done with the cleverest of feeling,
and after climbing the walls, they ran across the ceiling!
No wonder, the total of their lives equals nine!
And I tell you, that "reckless" was their middle name,
they shared it because, they were one and the same;
they had so much energy, this late in the day,
and I couldn't control them, no matter what I'd say,
and I tried to lay down, as they continued to play,
how long do Feline Imps play this game?!?
Then, that Magical Time of the night, around three,
when the shadows cease dancing, and let the world be;
these Night Imps began to slow down, to a "blur",
and a calmness just then, began to occur,
and soon I could see, where each of them were,
beside their bowls, looking up "hungrily".
And after I'd fed them, these Imps did calm down,
the Twilight Invasion had stopped, without a sound;
for now, they were getting some well deserved rest,
I had settled them down, with a canned tuna fest,
and I laid down as well, after cleaning their mess,
then, we all three were "Dreamland Bound".
