Alice through the Looking Glass

Alice through the Looking Glass

She walked up to the door,
They let her come inside.
At the steel enclosure,
She bought herself a ride.

Alice stepped through the looking glass
Into another world,
She couldn't find her way back,
Her head was in a whirl.

Across the chessboard Alice moved
Until she met the queen,
And there were even stranger things
She saw there in between.

She didn't seem to understand
Why the Mock Turtle cried;
Meanwhile Humpty Dumpty fell
A broken man, he died.

Then there was the Jabberwok
Bringing terror to her sight,
She was hoping to be rescued;
Praying for her White Knight.

Alice through the looking glass,
In innocence didn't ask,
And no one thought to tell her
The Looking Glass was crack(ed).

Alice :)

I liked that Alice was/is/will always be innocent and pure, even if she doesn't think to ask about "The Looking Glass", I liked the poem. Greetings, Roxana.

Thank you very much. I tried to keep the aura of innocence there. Rett ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Some call me lazy, I prefer Energy Conservationist~~~~~~~~~~~~~ That's P.C. speak by the way.

I like the idea of ...

... it all being a drug induced experience. Kinda changes the story a bit, Alice sitting there smok'n crack. Maybe it's just me that thinks, maybe she is not that innocent after all. Loved the write, Mark

Even as a kid I thought Alice may have got hold of her mom's medication. I tried to keep an aura of innocence of her gettin and smokin' the crack and then learning..uh oh, I've been a bad girl. *L* Anyone that can see snails smokin' hooka's was on something. Mark, this is funny, I would love to see Alice sitting in a dark corner smoking crack, rolling a joint, or whatever ... :) How about that, I think it would be funny :) Since I read a poem about Alice doing all those stuff, I like this one :)) Greetings, Roxana.

I think I met Alice, a long,

I think I met Alice, a long, long, time ago, there in wonderland. This is a very clever yet sad poem. It brings back many lost memories for me. Memories which help me to understand who this girl was way back when. Nicely done. Always, Cat

Thank you Cat. Growing up in the 60's and 70's I met her a few times myself. I appreciate the comments. Rett ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Some call me lazy, I prefer Energy Conservationist~~~~~~~~~~~~~ That's P.C. speak by the way.

Thanks my friend

Glad you liked the twisted ending. I appreciate it. Respectfully, Rett: "Next time you think you're perfect, walk on water." "A Democracy can withstand anything but Democrats." Robert A. Heinlein
