Hair Today Gone Tomorrow

I always knew
Life isn't fair
But, I'm really upset
About losing my hair

I'm sure you think
I must be vain
I've already started
Using Rogaine

For so many years
I had a full head
Now it's coming out
All over my bed

All those young guys
Worse off than me
Say I'm lucky I had it
Until forty-three

Its part of life
Of course I know that
I guess it's time
To start wearing a hat

I can relate to this

From someone who's forehead seems to be moving slowly toward the back of my neck I can completely relate. WELL DONE! Rett ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Some call me lazy, I prefer Energy Conservationist~~~~~~~~~~~~~ That's P.C. speak by the way.

I have to say

I do not know the feeling, as my father @ 57 still has hair to the middle of his back. I do not believe this I will ever live. Very amusing write though, Mark

Thank you for your comment.

Thank you for your comment. I really appreciate it a lot! I hope that you are right about that. I didn't even notice I was losing my hair until my late 30's. It has only really become noticeable in the last two years. All through my 20s and 30s I had a full head of hair. My father is 84 and he still has hair. Only last year, my mother told me that the loss of hair is usually inherited from the mother's side of the family. She told me that she had uncles who were baldheaded, so just because your father has hair, that doesn't necessarily mean that you will not be bald. Michael

I have decided on a tatoo

When mine is all gone, I think I will get a tattoo on top of my head that says, "This end up" just so there will be no errors. Rett ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Some call me lazy, I prefer Energy Conservationist~~~~~~~~~~~~~ That's P.C. speak by the way.

You work your brain too much Michael!

That's why you lose hair. :-) Why don't you try fresh Aloe vera juice & warm olive oil on your scalp? I've used it & it gave my hair full body with added shine. I've experienced that it's good for hair growth, too. Bold head has become the latest style even with young guys in Sri Lanka, may be due to hair loss or due to premature graying of hair. So, you or any of you other guys don't have to get depressed about the bold head. Think it is the Style & go about in confidence. You all still look attractive with or without hair! By the way, very nice work Michael! Perfect word use as usual. Enjoyed it a lot. Cheers! Nilmini

Thank you very much for your comment and your suggestion!

I don't know where I can get fresh Aloe vera juice in the U.S., but I think I'll look around for some. Maybe it would be in a health food store, or something like that. If someone knows where I can it, please let me know. I am very glad that you like my poem! If anyone else has any remedies for hair loss, I would be interested in hearing them. Thanks, Michael

blowing in the wind

a freind is bald remember him as having that daring shock atop now he has the stately dome (what pleasure does he decree?) myself its long go bald and I look for a new woman A prerogative for her its a must!! I love this poem its personal and positive "I had it till forty three" yes some lose it so much sooner and I was bald for a couple of years with a goatee Its popular to be bald here in Canada too as Nilmini tells in Sri Lanka

You know Michael

I have considered all the options and finally come to the conclusion of to heck with it. I don't care for tattoos or piercings or any of that, but I may consider getting one tattoo when the rest of the hair goes. Maybe something like "This end up" just so no mistakes will be made. *L* Respectfully, Rett: "Life is like a beach. Salty, gritty, somewhat fishy and at other times, downright crabby!" Rett 2008.

you are welcome

Bold head is popular in Sri Lanka, too. So, why don't you consider coming here? You are always welcome! Best Regards, Nilmini

Thank-you for inviting me!

Thank you for inviting me! However, I'm not sure how well I would be able to get around in Sri Lanka in my wheelchair. What is the wheelchair accessibility like in Sri Lanka? Is your home wheelchair accessible? How many steps do you need to go up to get to your home? Will your husband be upset if I show up at your door? How does he feel about houseguests? What time is dinner? Best Regards, Michael
