Until Then ~ How Aqua Came To Be

Until Then

You'll have to show me
the holes in your pockets
and lay your threadbare
soul at my door.

You'll have to tell me
how you light the Light
and how you plug the holes
in your heart when the darkness
leaks out.

Until then..

Don't touch me
with  your lust-filled need
talk to me instead
of ivory-tusked memories,

Do not make pitiful excuses,
do not pretend The Fool,
as if you returned
from a Sojourn to an Almighty God

Even your eyes betray
your lust-filled mouth...
I will never trust you to open
the delicacy of my womb
until you shed your waiting tears
in the pure Psalms of Metta,
and you think with rays of sunlight

And if you could just do this for me,
I'll show you my window to Paradise,
I've been treading water inside
this mournful tavern of torrential feelings
and bitter ashes

I've been waiting for
You for a very very long time

And You shall be my
Beloved

We will devour
one another
flesh upon flesh
of raging fire
feasting like dragons

...sky upon sky...

How Aqua Came To Be

When the blueness comes
colours the bird on wing
the daydream quilt,
the blessed song
in the morning light....

then and only then
I shall love You
most tenderly...

where the roses grow
near
my stained-glass window,
if rain should fall,
if Spring should climb
and touch Your memory...

when

the scent of one red rose
fills the world,
stains the meadow green...

then and only then
I shall love You.

Glad you liked it… since

Glad you liked it... since several peak experiences, I've been living with a heightened sense of awareness. Much like an animal.. Great for poetry, although simultaneeously and strangely difficult to put into words unless I step out of *anna* into a stream of consciousness... I was rather pleased when that title came to me ;-) ~A

Anna

Some of these images just gave me gooseflesh! So beautiful and haunting, full of longing and a deep, deep ache. Stunning images, gorgeous writing. ~ Ronda

hehehe “gooseflesh”,

hehehe "gooseflesh", depending on what part of the country... it is goosebumps, flesh or skin... (and probably others of which I am unaware;-) Thanks Rhonda (without the "h") It is absolutely gorgeous here now... finally cool with no humidity and sunshine! Should be out gardening or I should say weeding... my beautiful garden has been unattended as of late. ;-( ~A

lol I would normally say

lol I would normally say "goosebumps" - have also heard "goose pimples" (which sound extremely unattractive) My gardening was finished this week, so I spent the day at my friend's with our families today and got sunburned by the pool. Stupid fair skin and red hair! "Rhonda (without the "h")" - it's easier to type "Ronda" isn't it? ;) ~Rw/oh

Ever since I was a little

Ever since I was a little girl, I wanted to be a redhead with alabaster skin & green eyes... I was white-blond as a child w brown eyes... The blond now silver & black. I guess I wanted to be Bukowski's or all those romantic love novels, by S. Golon in the Angelique series I read as a teen & young woman. She's still writing at 79. Btw... keep out of the sun. 99% wrinkles are sun-caused. ~ A p.s. totally forget about the goosepimples which is native Ohioan

Lol. Long time since

Lol. Long time since someone has made "goddess" reference. We're all gods and goddesses. And respect is the first offering... Love is the second. Love, Anna

Only then shall i love you

This is a stunning and beautiful poem Anna. Is there a beloved for us all just waiting out there like a solitary whale calling across the vastness of the ocean to its distant soulmate? And only when the greedy flesh becomes also spirit can they truly become a beloved deserving of your love. You are a true spiritual Romantic. Keith

Yes. I’m certain,

Yes. I'm certain, Keith.... the echo is our own calling from the distant future... I love yet the love I have/am can not truly be shared... it can only be given. And not too many men know how to take that. ~Anna

I'm speechless

Really like what can I say That was amazing Your poetry is like painting a picture and your soul is the paint brush on a canvas of this website any man who has ever enjoyed the pleasure of your company is a lucky man If only dreams came true then just maybe I'd one day be lucky enough to set eyes upon you to Peace Rolwright

Rolwright, Rolwright, what

Rolwright, Rolwright, what can I say? I think the image we hold in our heads about another human being is often much more exciting than the flesh-and-blood person. I've done that too... And I've been burnt to a crisp. ~Anna
