Memoirs

Memoirs

Life experiences
endeared moments
now forgotten

Cherished relations
a treasured heart
has been erased

Youthful beginnings
profound images
will one day be gone

Name carved in stone
in a fresh mowed garden
is where she will rest

Peacfully...

This is very image provoking. The quiet resting place of one's mortal shell, respectfully tended and kept well. I would not wish this on anyone, though a reality we often forget and live as though there is no end. Great write, Mark

Smiles:) Barbara Thanks mark for reading and the kind comment. Appreciate your interpretation. Alzheimer's is a tragedy. Finding out my twenty two year old made have this after countless surgery since birth has me down right now. Been hit by a few other trains lately.

Some profound imagery

I liked some of the phrases and images used to create the picture. I don't think th efirst stanza works with the repition of memoir and memories, it made it a bit disjointed when I read it. I like the shortness of the poem, almost like the sigh of loss. Jacob

Smiles:) Barbara Thanks for reading and the fine suggestion. I agree that the first stanza don't work well. will look for a better workable word to replace memories. This is about the loss of precious memories Alzheimer's patient live through.
