Just in case
we don't make it
in this life
and can't find each other
in the next
take this
these my words
carefully selected
and sorted to specification
living forever in literature
the literal demonstration
of all I felt inside
living in the moment
letting myself
let go
into the pleasure
that was you
at that time
and perhaps
days, months, maybe even
minutes later
that all
may change
but then
you got this
when you miss me
each of these words
a kiss I once
gave to you
every syllable a secret
I told you
laying in your arms
looking up into your eyes
from beginning to end
enveloped in these lines
lay the best part
of me there is to hold on to
