Fireplace Dream

Fireplace Dream

Sitting by the inglenook, I fall asleep,
staring at the popping red flaming coals
fill with desire to be that radiance
on a happy smiling face

Hearing the crackling oak burn,
I awake to see a firestorm
breaking the peaceful quiet of night
I imagine a heart aflame with passion

I watch the blaze settle down
as fire burns in the hearth.
Like sparks in the eyes of two lovebirds
ashes rise to the chimney top

I wait by the fireplace watching this glowing beauty
as it warms my body in this chilly cabin.

The last stanza seems to have fallen short ,as if you were having a difficult time finding the words. The poem itself is good but sounds unfinished to me Maybe a little more thought given to this may help. you have a nice strong start I'd like to see an equally strong finish Chrystalie

A Great Reflection...

Hi Barbara This so took me back, as a child sitting infront of the fire, But i must agree with Chrystalie, the last stanza needs a better finish, Only a suggestion............ Words that never come from lips speaking many things Thoughts keep the fire burning bright from within the hearth Very Best Regards Peter ~~~~~~~~~Creativity Is to think more efficiently~~~~~~~~~~

Last stanza

Smiles:) Barbara Thanks Chrys and Peter I kinda of do things backwards the last stanza stem from a long exhausted conversations that goes no where close to a reconciliation. Is why it is the way it is. I tend to write what brings comfort then end it with the negative. One of Rob suggestions I try to work on, but seem to fail at. Your suggestion is well received. I like your suggestion Peter, but must think a little more before using it to make sure it give the meaning I intend.
