Kalediscope Eyes

Water colored skies, a backdrop
for crayoned cirrus clouds
a scissor-moon rests
among chalk-dabbed stars,
the collage of an innocent child.

A shadowed presence
beckoned him to
finger paint in
dark eerie shades
intrusions,
perplexing the mind.

The scissor-moon lies
fractured
chalk stars extinguished
clouds transformed
into demons
skies flow blood-red wine.

Normalcy lost in
a distorted collage
never to be
mirrored again
in those tainted
kalediscope eyes.

You are very welcome! The poem starts out as a happy-go lucky child whose mind is taken over by a disease appreciate your comments, as always.

The surreal content is arresting, here

A very dreamy write. I never thought before of eyes as kaleidoscopic (check your spelling of the word) but it conjures up an image of impressions that are multiple for the sky, the moon, and the stars...and says it quite succinctly and attractively. There is more to this piece than one first sees....always a mark of good poetry. Yours in peace, Synchro

This came out really well, Janice. Reminds me of a time when everything was easy. ~Jess ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ~ "The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants." - Thomas Jefferson ~ "Tonight's forcast: dark, continued dark tonight, turning to partly light in the morning..." - George Carlin

So much quality here

I found myself transported into the college, the image of a scissor moon and extinguished chalk stars was just exquisite, heart wrenching. I love the sinister undertones from the childs painting. I find myself re-reading this poem to try and unravel the multiplicities that are within it. great job. Jacob
