In an Endearing Way

I've got friends scattered around
like leaves that have fallen
from some old maple tree.
I mean that in an endearing way.

And depending just what season it is
that they herald from,
decides exactly how much light,
and how well that light's reflected off of them.

It's not the leaves, themselves.
It's mostly the way that they turn,
and how others perceive them, as well.
That's because of the different "stages".

And, because of the stages
that the observer is going through, too.
Which explains why we see similiar episodes,
and process the thought registers...differently.

Because they are different.
Just as each pathway traveled by each leaf,
was independently different from it's fellows...
..and I mean that in an endearing way, too.
