Drama Queen
The old drama queen
turns, faces the camera
and the eye blinks:
"I'm ready for my close-up,"
she coughs, a fine cobweb
of spittle balancing on her chin,
she used to be such a great
beauty, full of dramatic
perversion, but she fell in love with
the wicked clown with happy feet
go home now.
the play is finished.
go home now.
take the shroud off the empty mirror.
turns, faces the camera
and the eye blinks:
"I'm ready for my close-up,"
she coughs, a fine cobweb
of spittle balancing on her chin,
she used to be such a great
beauty, full of dramatic
perversion, but she fell in love with
the wicked clown with happy feet
go home now.
the play is finished.
go home now.
take the shroud off the empty mirror.
