The Lost Traveler

The Lost Traveler

She travel far and wide to distant lands
searching for things her heart desire
free flowing wells of love underground
are waters untouched fresh and pure.

She drifts in and out of consciousness,
digging in the trenches of life mistakes
then realizes it was all in vain;
the cistern she found has long dried up.

She stumbles aimlessly like blind dogs
searching for crumbs amid shattered dreams.
She wanders thirsting in the wee hours of the night
with no one to hear her final moans.

Somewhere behind the rainbow, she hides,
along a lonely highway, sheltered from the stormy winds
above the mountaintops head in the clouds
a lonely country girl sits alone.

In an abandoned cabin under old oak tree,
she hopes some day to find water fresh and pure.

Thanks Jess

Smiles:) Barbara appreciate your kind comment and suggestion I feel differently about the italic, but want all to enjoy reading it. So I am making the changes. Matter of fact I change all in my doc, so remembering is not a challenge.

A endless search

for the one thing that will cure the "lonely" within. Such a deep feeling of lonliness here, for me anyway...just constantly searching for love, acceptance, stability. Very heartwrenching, I can feel it. Great write, Mark

Smiles:) Barbara Thanks Mark for your comment and kinds words. It is just as you described. Endless search for whatever each individual long for, but can't seem to obtain.
