Requiem for a Varied State of Affairs

There was a time
that the singularity of my voice,
could only echo through the canyon of my feelings.
Making not a sound in response.
That was a lonely "state of affairs".

And then we met.
And as we understood, and took control
as to how we responded when each of us shared,
We were so refreshed by one another
and we enjoyed such a happy, "state of affairs".

But, from somewhere
the staleness of discord did creep in,
and steal away the magic we were taking for granted;
leaving us both trying to savor
a very sorry, "state of affairs".

Now, we share not a common voice
and though we both silently grieve,
for the passion that no longer exists;
and has turned into hot air, lookin' for the last word.
That's a very sad "state of affairs".

Put together well

I like this Doc. It is just like a relationship I was in back in the '70s. The very sad part was when our last words took us in opposite directions. Thanks, Mark
