Still missing you

Nineteen years ago today,
you took your last breath.

My heart filled with sadness,
your face filled with peace.

I held your hand until it was cold,
your face white as a sheet.

Said my good-bye's with tears in my eyes,
one day again we'll meet.

Yesterdays seem so long ago
but yet they repeat.

And when I look in a mirror,
it's you I see in me.

Through the years like today,
I find myself still missing you.

Hard to let go

Mema, this poem was so sad. I too have felt the pain of losing someone close to me All we can do is go on and hope that we meet again in a better place. Sorry for your pain. Patricia
